One of few elite track athletes in the state is Sidney Thorvaldson of Rawlins who won all 3 distance races in 3A at the State Track Meet in March. In fact, the sophomore won all 3 a year ago and has proven herself on a national stage with outstanding performances in the Simplot Games, New York City and beyond. At the state meet in Casper, she took the podium in the 800 with a time of 2.17 and ran a class record 5.00.32 to win the 1600. Thorvaldson dominated the 3200 in 10.47.86 and pretty much dominates every race in Wyoming that she competes in. It's been said that only 10% of all athletes are elite. Sidney Thorvaldson fits that mold.
