Sheridan High School twins Sylvia and Timothy Brown will continue their running careers at Black Hills State University.

The Bronc seniors recently signed with the Yellow Jackets program for cross country and track.

Both twins finished in 11th place at the 2019 Wyoming State Cross Country Championships in Class 4A, one spot away from earning all-state honors. For both, it was the best finish in their four-years of running at the state meet.

Tim’s effort helped Sheridan win the boys’ team championship for the first time in school history last fall. The Broncs bested runner-up Cheyenne Central by 17 points.

Sylvia helped the Sheridan girls to a fourth-place finish in the team standings.

Both also ran indoor and outdoor track over the last two seasons.

Tim helped Sheridan win back-to-back indoor state titles in 2019 and 2020. He placed fifth in the 800-meters and was on the runner-up 4x800 meter relay.

Sylvia finished sixth in the 3200-meters in 2019 and took 10th in 2020.

At the 2019 Wyoming State Track Championships last spring, Tim came in fourth-place in the 800-meters. He was also on the second-place 1600 Sprint Medley relay and third-place 4x800 meter relay. The Broncs came in second in the team race. Sylvia placed 10th in the 3200 meters and was on the fifth-place 4x800 meter relay.

Black Hills State University competes at the NCAA Division II level and is part of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC). The Brown twins with run for Coach Scott Foley.
