The top-ranked team in 4A took on their cross-town rival in Gillette on Friday. Thunder Basin has been great so far this year, so Campbell County was going to have their hands full. The Bolts lead early and never looked back and started the scoring with a 26 yard run to the end zone from Jaxon Pikula to make it 7-0 in favor of Thunder Basin. That was followed by pick 6 from Blaine Allen that covered 32 yards to increase the lead to 14.

Thunder Basin really turned on the jets in the 2nd quarter with Mason Hamilton finding Blaine Allen for 70 yards and a TD so it was 21 zip. Gillette got on the board with a run of a dozen yards by Will Miller but Thunder Basin responded with a TD of their own as Hamilton and Allen hooked up for the 2nd time. This play covered 38 yards so the Bolts had a commanding 35-7 lead at halftime.

In the 3rd quarter, Thunder Basin tacked on a field goal and Hamilton went long to Warren Carr so 83 yards and a score. That made it 45-7. Dylan Catlin capped the Thunder Basin scoring with a 16-yard pass from Hamilton. Gillette's last touchdown was turned in by Vijay Pitter from 5 yards out. Thunder Basin beats Gillette 51-14 to get to 5-0 on the year. The Bolts have a huge home game this week against Natrona. Gillette drops to 1-4 on the season. The Camels will have a long road trip to Rock Springs this week.
