After settling for a draw the first time around, the TrailBlazers would take care of business on the road, against a Tiger team that was missing their leading scorer, due to a concussion.

I think they take that sofa to everyplace they go to...the restaurant, the movie theater, the game, the classroom...I suppose it has its perks.

#3 Torrington at #2 Lander...first half...Lander wearing the white...the opposition was having trouble getting control of the ball...and Tony Schaff would take advantage of the situation and bury a shot into the far side of the net. He saw the opportunity and knew he had to cash in quickly. 1-nothing is the score, about 12 minutes into the game.

Torrington would strike back...and got a little help from the other team...the corner kick will hit 3 defenders and then watch the acrobatic move by Austin Shields. The sophomore kept his eye on the ball the entire time and he knows he put on a sweet move. More importantly...he has tied this game up at 1 goal a-piece.

About 4 minutes later...the TrailBlazers were knocking on the door again...Shields will run in to take another shot, but Abe Lowham would take one for the team. He gave up 4 when these 2 teams played each other 3 weeks prior to this game, and the sophomore wanted to avoid a repeat performance.

However the visitors would continue to press on...we got a high fly ball and a meeting of the minds is about to happen...Kristian Arnusch was the one who got to the ball and redirected it in for the goal. That was a big momentum boost, and that would make this a 2-to-1 game, going into halftime.

Second half...both teams now going in the opposite direction...the Tigers were minus their leading scorer Daniel Lobera who suffered a concussion earlier in the week, and they tried to continue on without him...Nesto Lowham's shot skims off of the cross-bar and Tyler Ring caught a break on that one, because it was out of his reach.

This next highlight was a big quick...we barely got the camera on in time...Nathan Stitt with the set up and Matthew Bebo completes the connection. Ok, that was a bit too quick...let's replay it and slow it down. Bebo was able to knock the header in, before the collision. Torrington has only been around for 9 seasons, but this is the best one they have had so far, and now lead 3-to-1.

About 1 1/2 minutes later...watch the delivery on this one...Arnusch was trying to get control of the ball...and then gives it backwards kick into the goal. That was awesome and he knows it The TrailBlazers are surprising everyone and maybe even themselves a little bit...they are in command, up 4-to-1.

As for last year's state runner-ups...they were not having a good day...and this play was a disaster...turnover in the backfield...Stitt will lift a shot over the backup goalie and all anyone could do was just watch from there. This is game is out of reach...the visitors have moved ahead now by a score of 5-to-1.

Lander tried to mount a late charge, even though the outcome of this game has already been decided...Micah Whiting tried to assist Jed Welsh, but Ring knew what they were up to, and cut it off at the pass. Torrington would prove they are for real...winning this contest on the road...5-to-1.
