The Lander Valley Tigers made school history on May 23, 2026, in Gillette, Wyoming. That was the location of their first boys’ soccer state championship, after the Tigers defeated the Cody Broncs, 2-1 in overtime, to win the 3A boys’ state title. A goal from Caleb Andrews in the first half of OT was the difference.

Andrews scored both goals for Lander. He tallied in the first half to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. Cody tied it in the second half and forced the extra 20 minutes. Andrews scored in the first 10 minutes, which was his 36th goal of the season. That was enough to give Lander the 3A boys’ soccer crown for the first time.

WyoPreps captured the celebration as time ran out for the Tigers. Then, we visited with Andrews, sophomore goalkeeper Stirling Baker, and senior defender Sawyer Nachazel about the title, some keys to the victory, and more.

Lander concluded the 2026 season with a record of 15-2. Cody finished at 14-2-1.
