PhotoFest: Torrington Gets to 3-2 in 3A Football, Downing Lander
The Torrington football team was looking to rebound from a disappointing 8-3 loss to Yuma, Colorado and took some frustration out on the Lander Tigers with a 33-2 win back on Friday, The Blazers are 3-2, and the defending 2A State champions. They moved up to 3A this season.
Torrington got out of the blocks quickly in this game with a 1 yard run for a touchdown in the first quarter from Ryan Moorehouse and Moorehouse proceeded to throw a 72-yard touchdown pass to Lande Grieman so the Blazers led by 14 after one-quarter of play.
Torrington added a 5-yard run for a score from Colby Sandusky in the 2nd quarter with Moorehoyse getting into the end zone from 5 yards out in the 3rd quarter. Sandusky ran for his 2nd TD of the night later in the 3rd.
It was a tough night for Lander with just 25 yards passing in the game their only scoring play coming from the Tiger's defensive unit on a safety. Lander is 2-2 on the year and will travel to Douglas this week. Torrington will be at Rawlins on Friday.
