Ameya Eddy of Lander Commits to Run at Colgate

Lander senior Ameya Eddy will continue her running career after signing earlier this month at Colgate University. Eddy is a three-time all-state runner in cross-country, a three-time all-state Nordic skier, and an all-state runner in outdoor track. She was the 2022 Class 3A state champion in cross-country. Eddy signed up to run cross-country, indoor track, and outdoor track.

Eddy finished in the top four in three high school cross-country seasons. She was fourth as a freshman in 2021, won the 3A title in 2022 at 19:29.2, placed second as a junior in 2023, and did not compete at the state championships in 2024.

Eddy has been one of the top cross-country skiers for the past three years. She was fourth in the freestyle and sixth in the classic race at the state championships in 2022. Eddy finished third in both the classic and freestyle Nordic races at the 2023 state championships. Earlier this year in the 2024 Nordic state championships, Eddy took second in the classic race and was fifth in the freestyle race.

She won her first state title in outdoor track as a member of the Lander Tigers’ first-place 4x800 meter relay last May. Eddy was runner-up in the 3A 1600 meters and finished fourth in the 800 meters. As a sophomore in 2023, Ameya placed in the top five in the 800, 1600, and 3200 meters in Class 3A. She was the runner-up in the 3A 1600 and 3200 meters as a freshman in 2021. Eddy also ran on Lander’s sprint medley relay in 2021, which took second place.
