Big Piney senior Micah Strong has signed her National Letter of Intent for a full-ride scholarship to participate in track and field at Montana State University Billings. Strong has enjoyed a wonderful career with the Punchers program. A four-sport athlete, Micah has won six state championships in outdoor track and field at BPHS. Five of those are individual state titles, and one is a relay crown. She is a three-year letter-winner and state track qualifier for the Punchers.

Strong is the two-time defending state champ in the Class 2A 400 meters and 800 meters. She also has a 100-meter dash state title (2023) on her resume and was part of Big Piney’s state champion 4x800 meter relay in 2022. Strong also has nine regional championships to her credit. She helped Big Piney win the 2A girls’ team championship in 2023.

Micah holds the school record in five running events. The 100 meters at 12.61 seconds. The 200 meters at 26.02. The 400-meter record at 58.37 seconds. The 800 meters at 2:21.06 and the 1600 meters at 5:40.50.

Strong has also played basketball for four years at BPHS. She was an all-conference selection in the 2023-24 season. This year, she averages 11.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.2 steals per game. Strong helped the Punchers qualify for the 2A state tournament.

Micah played three seasons for the Big Piney volleyball team, as well.

She ran cross-country for the Jackson program last fall. In her first high school season, Strong placed 24th at the 4A state championships. Her time was 20:57.4.
