It’s times like these when you wish you could just roll up the windows and turn on the heater.

Number 5 Kelly Walsh at Natrona…first half…Kelly Walsh wearing the green and trying to strike early from long range…not a bad idea because all Ben Peiper could do was just knock that shot over the cross bar and out of bounds…he’s not out of the woods just yet.

On the ensuing corner kick…Caleb Romsa with the delivery…that try will get deflected but the net is wide open for Seth Romsa who was looking for the top shelf and finds it. That’s how you take advantage of the situation and the Trojans are on the board, leading 1-to-nothing.

Later…now it’s the other Romsa’s turn…Caleb is leading the charge…he knew the defense was closing in so he better get rid of it, before it’s too late. He’s aiming for the far side of the net and he’ll connect. We’re only 12 minutes into the game, and KW has already jumped out to a 2-zip lead on their cross-town rivals.

Skipping ahead…here comes more trouble…the visitors are on another fast break attack…Peiper tries to rush out and make the save, which he does sort of…but the plan back-fired as he would get called for a penalty in the box, and now he’s got to face the music.

Goalies are usually not too fond of penalty kicks. Marcus Couldridge gets the call on this try for the Trojans…he’ll go one way…the goalie goes the other. That was pretty easy. Kelly Walsh was in control of this contest, up 3-nil at halftime.

2nd half…Natrona had yet to show any signs of life…this was probably their best chance, and Connor Diller had to work for that save, but he’d reel that ball in and keep the Mustangs off of the score-board.

Meanwhile…KW decided to go after one more for insurance reasons…here’s Seth Romsa…Peiper’s coming out again, but it’s not going to work this time as the ball will slowly trickle its way across the goal line and into the back of the net. It’s the second goal of the game for Seth, and that was more than enough as the Trojans take care of N-C…4-to-nothing.
