Cold and rain did nothing to dampen the spirits of Wyoming High School Rodeo Association kids up in the championship round of the state finals Saturday in Gillette. The future looks good for rodeo in the 'Cowboy State' with two freshman girls taking top honors in goat tying and breakaway roping. Tavy Leno from Sheridan and Wheatland's Rayne Grant have become close seeing each other every weekend this season and look to be linking a lifelong friendship. Leno won the the goat tying with combined score of 237.5 to punch her ticket to the National Finals Rodeo next month in Rock Springs. Grant placed first in the breakaway roping with a score of 176. That was a pretty good weekend for both of them.
