
PhotoFest: Wheatland Cross Country Meet
The Cross Country season is heading down the stretch with teams tuning up for regionals and the state meet later this month in Cheyenne. Wheatland played host to a small meet on Friday and for the ladies, Wheatland sophomore Raelyn Goff set the pace with a time of 21.30.10 with Makinzea Lynch of Rawlins placing 2nd in 21.50.90. In the 3rd spot was Faith Fischer of Rawlins with a clocking of 21.5810, Allison Renstrom of Douglas was 4th and Sarah Hedum of Cheyenne South was 5th.
In the girls team standings, Douglas was 1st with 24 points, Wheatland 2nd with 43 and Saratoga 3rd with 59. In the boys' 5000 meter race, the winner there was freshman Noah Blasi of Rawlins in 17.56.50, Douglas sophomore Bodey Kejr was 2nd in 18.12.50 and Linden Whiteplume from Fort Washaskie was 3rd in 18.49.40. Brian Penny of South took 4th and Wilk Tanner from Rawlins was 5th.
In the boys team standings, Rawlins took the top spot with 43 points, Wheatland 2nd with 56, and Douglas 3rd with 58. We have some fantastic photos to pass along from the Wheatland race, courtesy of Randy Bell. Enjoy and look for someone you know.
