Wind River’s Jaycee Herbert Signs with MSU-Billings for Track
Wind River speedster Jaycee Herbert has found a place to land at the next level as he will compete for Montana State Billings in track and field. As a junior, Herbert won the 2A State Championship in the 100-meter dash in 11.20 and also won a state title in the 200 with a clocking of 22.27. In that 2022 season, Herbert placed 3rd in the 400 in 51.38.
In his senior year in track, he placed in the top 4 at the 2A State Meet in all 3 sprints taking 2nd in the 200 in 23.05, 3rd in the 100 in 11.31, and 4th in the 400 in 50.62. Herbert used his exceptional speed to help the Cougars post back-to-back 7-3 seasons and making the 1A 9-man semi-finals. In his senior season, he rushed for 736 yards and 9 touchdowns and 870 yards on the ground, and 10 TDs his junior year.
Herbert also averaged 11 points and 4 rebounds per game in basketball in 2022-23 and threw in 8 points a game his junior year. Montana State-Billings is a Division II school that competes in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.
