It was a challenging season for the Worland boys basketball group with an overall record of 14-13 but a state tournament appearance. The Warriors did get it together at the 3A West Regional with 3 wins in 4 games. It was a struggle for this squad in the opening round of the state tournament with a 46-38 loss to Wheatland. The Warriors were 4-17 from the 3 point line and got a dozen points each from Rudy Sanford and Rylan Mocko. In the consolation round, Worland bounced back with a 66-57 victory over Newcastle as Luke Mortimer had 20 points and 10 rebounds. Sanford chipped in 11 as the Warriors were 7-15 from 3 point land. Worland ended the season on a high note with a 57-33 win over Pinedale as Sanford went off for 18. He and Mortimer were all-state selections and Mortimer averaged 13 a game. Both of those guys return next year but will also lose 5 seniors.
