Big Horn and Tongue River are 31 miles apart and these 2 schools have a fierce rivalry in high school sports. These two squads met for the 2A Volleyball State Championship in Casper on Saturday and were meeting for the 4th time this year. Big Horn won the three previous meetings and entered the State Tournament as the #1 seed from the East with Tongue River the #2 seed.

Big Horn's Emme Mullinax is in line to become a rare 4-time All-State selection and her hitting was 2nd to none on that 2A court at the Ford Center. The Rams setters found her consistently and she came through consistently. Tongue River with All-Stater McKinlee Scammon came out inspired with a 25-23 win in the first set but after that, Big Horn systematically won the next three sets, 25-18, 25-21, and 25-19. The Rams made it back-to-back state championships and 3 of the last 4 years. This is a program that graduated two All-State players from last year's team, Saydee Zimmer and Emma Prior. BH finished the season 25-9.

Tongue River went 26-5 this season and their senior group took them a long way. The Eagles have made six straight appearances in the State Tournament with their last state title coming back in 1996. We have some images to share from the 2A Championship match in our gallery below and a short video of match-point. Enjoy!
