Mountain View has excelled in athletics for a long time but the boys track team put it all together to win the 2019 state championship in Casper over the weekend. The Buffs accumulated 129 points for 1st while Buffalo was 2nd with 102 and Powell was 3rd with 98. Buffalo's Cody Milmine won the 100 and the 200 and the Bison went 1-2 in the 100 and 1-3 in the 200. Milmine crossed the finish line 11.27 for the 100 and 22.35 for the 200. He nearly won the 400 and was caught down the stretch by Jax Cox of Powell in a super human effort. Cox wins it in 49.58 and was also the champion of the 800 meter race on Friday. In Saturday's 1600, Sam Kistemann of Lander took the tape in 4.39.66. Mountain View has an exceptional all around athlete in Briggin Bluemel who ran 15.32 to win the 110 hurdles and then ran 39.77 to win the 300 hurdles. That was quite an effort!. Check out our video from Saturday's action. Enjoy!
