The 3A East Regional volleyball tournament was held on Friday and Saturday in Douglas with the top 4 teams advancing to the State Tournament in Casper. Douglas was the #1 seed in the tourney and took 1st place without losing a set. The Bearcats defeated Burns, Torrington, and Wheatland in 3 games each, defeating Wheatland for a #1 seed at State 25-19, 25-16, and 25-18. The Bulldogs will be the #2 seed from the East.

Torrington took the third seed with a straight-set win over Rawlins. Buffalo, Glenrock Newcastle, and Burns were the four teams that did not make it to this week's culminating event. Maybe the biggest surprise was Rawlins,  who came into regional as the sixth seed, with a record of well under .500. However, the Outlaws beat Buffalo and Newcastle to qualify for the big show in Casper, which will start on Thursday.

We have a slew of photos to share from Friday's regional action in Douglas and you can find them in our gallery below. Enjoy!
