Douglas assumed the lead at the 3A Girls state track meet on Friday in Casper with a first place finish in the shot put and a 2nd place finish in the high jump. Allison Fertig of the Bearcats threw 41 feet 8.75 to win the shot and took 2nd in the discus behind McKinley Bradshaw of Lyman who turned in a winning toss of 129-10. Bradshaw is a University of Wyoming basketball signee and also took the gold in the high jump at 5-2 with Kamdynn Townsend of Douglas placing 2nd. Over in the triple jump, that was won by Isabella Romasko of Pinedale going 35-11. Her teammate, Madison Friend made it to the top of the podium in the pole vault clearing 10 feet 6 inches. On the track, Rawlins super star Sydney Thorvaldson made it look easy as she repeated as state champion in the event. Her winning time on Friday was 2.17.03. In the team standings after 2 days, Douglas is in 1st with 70.5 points, Pinedale 2nd with 44  and Lyman is 3rd with 43
