WCA Hall of Fame Inductee Wenett Martin

Volleyball coach Wenett Martin has been a successful at both Wright and Thunder Basin High Schools and was inducted into the Wyoming Coaches Association Hall of Fame back on Saturday in Casper.

Her teams in Wright won 4 State Championships in 2A, including a 3-pear from 2014-16. Those Panther squads had plenty of talent and took a very enthusiastic approach to the sport.

Martin moved over to Thunder Basin in Gillette, finishing 2nd twice at the 4A State Tournament in 2019 and 2023. This past season, the Bolts lost a thrilling 5-set match to Laramie in the 4A championship and won an exciting 5-set match in the semi-finals vs. Kelly Walsh. Thunder Basin has made 6 straight appearances at the State Tournament.

We had a chance to talk with her about her accomplishments in volleyball and her coaching career.
