The State Girls Cross Country meet was held on a challenging course at Little America in Cheyenne back in the fall with one of the hometown products winning a state championship. Maggie Madsen of Cheyenne East won the 4A title with a time of 18.26.4. That outdistanced Madison Antonino from Jackson who took 2nd and Carlee Roth of Thunder Basin who finished 3rd. Cheyenne Central won the 4A team title with Natrona 2nd and Jackson 3rd.

Over in 3A, Kinley Cooley put an exclamation point on her cross country season with a :30 win over Raina Wachob of Cody with Hailie Schramm of Cody taking 3rd. Cooley ran a smooth 19.08.02 to hit the finish line 1st, Cody won the team championship with Powell 2nd and Buffalo 3rd.

Lyla Marney of Big Horn has a bright future ahead of her and was the runaway winner in the 2A race with a clocking of 19.45.3. Dai'onna Posey from the Wyoming Indian took 2nd place and Teagan Butler of Big Horn was 3rd. Tongue River was the team champion in 2A in 2024, followed by Big Horn and Wyoming Indian.
