Wyoming High School Boys And Girls Basketball Final Rankings 2019
The teams will decide which one really is #1 in the post-season, because the coaches and media rankings are only for the regular season.
All is quiet in the final 4A and 3A boys rankings. There's no change in either one from last week. Sheridan finishes the regular season as the unanimous #1 team in 4A. The Broncs along with #2 Cheyenne East, #4 Cheyenne Central and #5 Thunder Basin will all be at the East Regional Tournament in Cheyenne, while #3 Kelly Walsh will play at the West Regional Tournament in Cody.
For the final 3A rankings it's still Buffalo at #1, followed by Lander, Rawlins Douglas and Pinedale. Regional tournaments will take place at Wheatland and at Worland.
Last week's #2 girls teams in 4A and 3A got a wake up call last week. In 4A Cheyenne East is still the unanimous #1, but #2 Thunder Basin was put on notice by cross town rival and new #4 Campbell County. Those 3 teams as well as #5 Cheyenne Central will play at the East Regional Tournament in Cheyenne this weekend, while #3 Star Valley will play at the West Regional Tournament in Cody.
It's been looking more and more like Douglas' world in 3A, because the other ranked teams have been beating each other during the past few weeks. The Lady Bearcats are still the unanimous #1 team heading into the East Regional Tournament at Wheatland. Rawlins and Mountain View share the #2 ranking, after MV beat former #2, now #5 Lyman for the second time this season. Buffalo carries the #4 ranking into the post-season.
Disclaimer: The rankings have no official say on post-season positioning, and are only to be used as a measuring stick on the regular season. Please don't read too much into the rankings.
