A few upsets last week did and didn't shake up the new coaches/media rankings.

Not much changed in 4A, and the big weekend lies ahead. Unanimous #1 Sheridan has the games they want...back-to-back home vs. #4 Cheyenne Central, and unanimous #2 Cheyenne East. Elsewhere, #3 Kelly Walsh is on the road in for a pair cross-quadrant games vs. Evanston and Green River. Thunder Basin is back in the rankings at #5 after ending their recent slump. The Bolts host Cheyenne South and Laramie this weekend.

The same teams are ranked in 3A, but in a different order...plus 4 of the 5 are in the East. #1 Buffalo and #2 Lander hold their spots. Rawlins moves up to #3, and Torrington up to #4. Douglas did beat the TrailBlazers a couple of weeks ago, but their most recent home loss vs. unranked Newcastle neutralized things, thus the Bearcats dropped to #5. 4 of the top 5 teams play each other this weekend. Rawlins at Douglas on Friday and Buffalo at Torrington on Saturday.

2A had some movement as well after last weekend. Pine Bluffs is still ranked #1, which is where they've been all season. Wyoming Indian is up to #2, and Big Horn is up to #3, thanks to the Rams' big win at Wright who drops to #4. Rocky Mountain has an argument to move up from their #5 spot, because they beat the Rams' at BH last week. However, the Grizzlies have more important matters to deal with...like proving themselves again, if they can win at home Saturday vs. the Chiefs.

1A is difficult to figure out. The pot has been stirred a couple of times in the past 2 weeks, but not much changed. Farson-Eden retains the #1 rankings, even though they lost week. Encampment is not far behind at #2. Our guess is that they voters remembered F-E's big win at Encampment. Granted the Pronghorns lost last week, it was on the road, and it took 3 OT's to happen. Cokeville got a small reward for their win and move up to #4. #5 Saratoga could argue that they should be ahead because of their win vs. Cokeville a couple of weeks ago. No matter how you slice and dice it, the 1A Southwest holds 4 of the top 5 rankings, and it's a mess. It will get even more interesting Thursday, when Cokeville plays their make-up game at Encampment. Meanwhile, all #3 Upton can do, is take care of business on the East side.
