Bryson Laing of Cody Wins 3A State Championship in Diving
Cody's Bryson Laing put it all together on Thursday and Friday in Gillette to win the 3A Boys Diving State Championship and did it in style. He had the lead going into the finals and turned in 3 sharp dives to prevail over Sage Hampton of Lander.
The junior earned 470.10 points for his efforts over the weekend and a year ago, he placed 2nd at the 3A Diving Championships with 396.05 points. Laing was 8th at the State Diving Meet as a freshman so his improvement is there for all to see. He was calm, cool, and collected throughout the competition, and hard work paid off.
We had a chance to talk with Laing after the competition was completed and it was a great weekend all the way around!
