Sheridan’s Ben Forsythe Repeats as 4A Champ in 2 Swimming Events
For the last two seasons, Ben Forsythe of Sheridan has owned the 50-meter Freestyle and the 100-meter Breaststroke in the 4A Swimming ranks. Over the weekend, he won both events at the 4A State Championships in Gillette and clocked in at 20.96 in the 50 Free with a time of 57.75 in the 100 Breaststroke. Forsythe was the only guy to finish in under a minute in the 100 Breast and swam on the Broncs 200 Free Relay which took 3rd.
Reaching the top of the podium is nothing new for this junior who won the 50 Free in the 2024 4A State Championships in 21.37 and the 100 Breaststroke in 59.91. His 200 Free Relay team placed 3rd. Forsythe has displayed marked improvement since his freshman year, taking 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke and 4th in the 50 Freestyle at the 2023 4A Championships.
Forsythe was named the Swimmer of the Meet and the Athlete of the Year so that says it all. We caught up with him after the festivities in Gillette to talk about his remarkable day in the pool.
