Most Wyoming high school cross country teams will race in a conference championship meet this week.

UPDATE: The 3A East race has been moved to Worland on Friday due to conditions in Douglas. The 3A West meet has been moved from Thursday to Friday. The 4A West has changed locations in Casper. The 4A East has been pushed back to Saturday.

There are six races at six different locations over two days. There are a few teams that do not compete in a conference meet.

This will be the final tune-up before next week’s state championships in Ethete, WY. All start times are approximate as provided by host sites. You can check back for results after the meets have concluded.

Conference Cross Country Championships – Friday, Oct. 15

2A East (Powder River Conference) in Hulett at The Golf Club at Devils Tower Big Horn, Hulett, Moorcroft, Sundance, Tongue River, Wright

Canceled due to too much snow at the course.

2A West (5 Rivers Conference) in Ethete at Wyoming Indian H.S. Fort Washakie, Lovell, Rocky Mountain, St. Stephens, Thermopolis, Wind River, Wyoming Indian

Larissa McElroy of Wyoming Indian won the girls' race, and Brian McNiven of Rocky Mountain took first place in the boys' race. The Wyoming Indian Girls and Rocky Mountain boys won the team titles.

3A East in Worland at Green Hills Golf CourseBuffalo, Burns/Pine Bluffs, Douglas, Newcastle, Rawlins, Torrington, Wheatland, Worland

Emma Gonzales of Burns/Pine Bluffs wins the girls' race in 19:19.10.

The Buffalo girls win the team crown with 52 team points. That was 27 ahead of Burns/Pine Bluffs.

Jack Bishop from Worland captured the boys' race in 16:51.92.

Buffalo won the boys' team title with 33 points, 17 in front of Worland,

3A West in Riverton at Riverton Rendezvous Site Cody, Green River, Lander, Lyman, Mountain View, Powell, Riverton, Star Valley

Ava Stafford from Cody won the girls' division in 19:16.78 and helped the Fillies win the team crown, as well, with 31 team points. That was 58 points ahead of Mountain View.

Owen Burnett of Mountain View won the boys' race in 16:14.13. That helped the Buffalos to the team title by 17 points over Star Valley.

4A West in Casper at 3 Crowns Golf Course (Kelly Walsh hosts) Evanston, Jackson, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Natrona County, Rock Springs

Laramie's Addison Forry won the girls' title in 18:29.62. That helped LHS win the team title with 36 points, which was eight points ahead of Natrona County.

On the boys' side, Charles Fossey from Rock Springs was victorious. He covered the course in 16:04.88. Jackson edged NC for the team title by one point. The Broncs had 42 and the Mustangs finished with 43.

Conference Cross Country Championships – Saturday, Oct. 16

4A East in Gillette at Camplex (Thunder Basin hosts) Campbell County, Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Cheyenne South, Sheridan, Thunder Basin

Central dominates in Gillette. The Indians swept the team and individual titles. Kaya Pillivant won the girls' race in a time of 19:07.62. Jacob Frentheway won the boy's division. His time was 16:23.54. The Central girls won by 34 points, while the boys won by 32 points.
