Wyoming High School Cross Country Scoreboard: Sept. 14-16, 2023
Week 4 of the Wyoming High School cross country season has four meets in the state.
The weekend starts in Sheridan. Douglas, Rawlins, and Ethete are also host sites. A handful of teams are competing out of state in Colorado, South Dakota, and Utah.
This is the Week 4 schedule for cross country. All schedules are subject to change.
Thursday, Sept. 14:
Michele Ludwig Invitational at the Blacktooth Park in Sheridan – Buffalo, Campbell County, Cody, Natrona County, Sheridan, Thunder Basin, Worland.
Ally Wheeler of NC won the race at 18:53.76. She led Natrona County to the team title, as well.
Sheridan's Landrum Wiley won on the home course at a time of 16:08.16. The Broncs also won the team crown.
Out-of-State Events:
Eldon Knudson Invitational XC Meet at Custer, SD – Newcastle.
Aspen Bloom was 8th for the Dogies in the girls' race. Sam Cunningham placed 4th in the boys' race.
Friday, Sept. 15:
Douglas Invitational at Douglas C.C. – Douglas, Glenrock, Moorcroft, Tongue River, Torrington, Wright.
Kaycee Kosmicki and Sully Wilson from Torrington won the individual races. Douglas captured both team titles.
Rawlins XC Invitational at Rochelle Ranch G.C. in Rawlins – Cheyenne South, Green River, Kelly Walsh, Laramie, Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, Saratoga, St. Stephens, Wheatland.
Laramie swept the individual honors with Claire Arens and Dominic Eberle winning the races. The Kelly Walsh boys and Laramie girls took home the team titles.
Out-of-State Events:
Arvada West Durden Invitational in Arvada, CO – Cheyenne Central.
Central was 2nd in the girls division and 4th in the boys. Emma Hofmeister and Trevor Schmidt both took 2nd, individually.
Newell Invitational Cross Country in Newell, SD – Hulett, Moorcroft, Sundance.
Deklan Gill of Sundance won the boys' race at 18:54.28.
Saturday, Sept. 16:
Chief Nations Invitational at Wyoming Indian HS in Ethete – Jackson, Lander, Rawlins, Riverton, St. Stephens, Thermopolis, Wind River, Wyoming Indian; Out-of-State teams = Lodge Grass (MT), Manila (UT).
Jackson swept the team titles. Madison Antonino of Jackson and Diego Lobatos of Lander won individually.
Out-of-State Events:
Andy Meyers Invitational in Greeley, CO – Cheyenne East.
Cheyenne East swept the team titles and had a runner-up finish in each varsity division.
Border Wars XC Meet in Salt Lake City, UT – Evanston, Lyman, Mountain View, Riverton, Rock Springs, Star Valley.
