There are only a few weeks left in the Wyoming High School cross-country regular season.

Four meets are being run in the state. Worland, Evanston, Wheatland, and Wright are those sites.

From this weekend, it’s only two weeks to the conference championships and only three weeks to the state championships in Cheyenne.

This is the Week 6 schedule for cross country. All schedules are subject to change.

Thursday, Sept. 28:

Warrior Invitational in Worland at the Green Hills G.C. – Buffalo, Burlington, Cody, Kelly Walsh, Lander, Lovell, Powell, Riverton, Thermopolis, Wind River, Worland.

Zena Tapia of Worland won on her home course at a time of 19:00.79. Cody won the girls' title with 28 team points. Worland's Trajn Swalstad won on the home course. His time was 16:04.49. The Warriors grabbed the team crown, as well, with 40 team points.

Out-of-State Events:

Sturgis Invitational Cross Country Meet in Sturgis, SD – Campbell County, Kelly Walsh, Natrona County, Newcastle, Sheridan, Thunder Basin.

Ally Wheeler of NC won the race at 18:38.51. Sheridan won the girls' team title at 52 points. Landrum Wiley of Sheridan won the boys' race at 16:21.27. The Broncs took the team honors with 68 points.

 

Friday, Sept. 29:

Evanston XC Invite 2023 at Purple Sage G.C. – Evanston, Green River, Jackson, Lyman, Mountain View, Rock Springs; out-of-state: Manila (UT).

Wheatland Cross Country Meet at Lewis Park – Douglas, Ft. Washakie, Lusk, Pine Bluffs, Rawlins, Rock River, Saratoga.

Marilee Williams of Saratoga placed 1st at 21:52.38. Douglas won the girls' team title. Noa Westfall of Rawlins won the boys' division at 18:07.19. Douglas also won the boys' team crown.

Out-of-State Events:

2023 Bearcat XC Invite in Scottsbluff, NE – Cheyenne East.

Maggie Madsen of Cheyenne East won the girls' varsity race at 20:37.33. Gracie Craig was 2nd. East won the girls team title with 4 runners being scored at 15 points. Aden Zwonitzer took 3rd in the boys' race. East won the boys' division with 26 points.

Thornton Invitational in Thornton, CO – Cheyenne Central, Laramie.

Emma Hofmeister from Central took 3rd place. Central girls were 3rd and Laramie was 5th.

Bridger Brokaw, Trevor Schmidt, and Race Morrell finished 3rd, 4th, and 5th for the Indians. Central (83) won the team title followed by Laramie (107).

 

Saturday, Sept. 30:

Brittany Rentas Memorial XC Meet at Hay Creek G.C. in Wright – Big Horn, Glenrock, Hulett, Moorcroft, Sundance, Tongue River, Wright.

Kylie Benim of Wright won on her home course at a time of 22:49.86. Isaiah Cote of Tongue River captured the boys' division at 19:24.18. The Wright girls and Sundance boys won the team crowns.

Out-of-State Events:

Lakota Nation Invitational Cross Country Meet near Rapid City, SD – St. Stephens, Wyoming Indian.
