Wyoming High School Football Semifinal Playoff Scoreboard: Nov. 4-5, 2022
It's the second week of the postseason for high school football in Wyoming with 10 semifinal games on Friday and Saturday.
Ten teams will advance to the five championship games next weekend in Laramie.
The number in parentheses is the playoff seed for each team.
Friday, November 4:
Class 1A-6 Man:
Final Score: (S1) #1 Little Snake River 71 (S3) #4 Encampment 8 - Rattlers get a chance to go for back-to-back titles. That was LSR's 20th straight victory.
Final Score: (N1) #3 Burlington 77 (S2) #2 Dubois 28 - Huskies jumped out to a 36-8 lead and never trailed.
Class 1A-9 Man:
Final Score: (E1) #1 Pine Bluffs 35 (W2) #3 Rocky Mountain 32 - Hornets stay undefeated and are back in the championship game for the first time since they won back-to-back titles in '16 and '17.
Class 2A:
Final Score: (E1) #2 Big Horn 7 (W2) #3 Lyman 0 - Rams are back in the title game for the 1st time since 2019. Eagles' bid for a 3-peat falls 1 game short.
Class 3A:
Final Score: (W1) #1 Cody 42 (E2) #4 Buffalo 7 - Broncs win their 26th in a row and will go for a 3-peat next Friday in Laramie. Jackson Schroeder ran for 124 yards and 2 TDs, plus an interception on defense.
Final Score: (W2) #2 Star Valley 48 (E1) #3 Douglas 27 - Braves trailed 14-7 and then scored 41 straight points to reach the title game for the first time since 2019.
Class 4A:
Final Score: (1) #1 Sheridan 63 (4) #4 Cheyenne Central 42 - Coon with 309 yards rushing and 5 TDs in the 1st half. Finished at 517 and 7 TDs, which is a new state record for 11-man high school football in Wyoming. The Broncs will make their 10th appearance in 14 years (13 minus the covid year of 2020) in the 4A title game in Laramie.
Final Score: (2) #2 Cheyenne East 55 (3) #3 Natrona County 36 - T-Birds make it back to the title game after winning it in 2020. Hayes threw for 244 yards and 4 TDs, 1 INT. Jackson accounts for 251 yards on offense & 3 TDs + 1 INT. Powell ran for 180 yards & 4 TDs for NC in the loss.
Saturday, November 5:
Class 1A-9 Man:
Final Score: (W1) #2 Shoshoni 40 (W3) #5 Wind River 6 - Truempler had 4 TD runs for the Wranglers who will get a chance to defend the title they won a year ago.
Class 2A:
Final Score: (W1) #1 Lovell 28 (W3) #5 Cokeville 7 - Bulldogs return to the title game for the 2nd straight year. Looking for 1st title since 2011.
