Vaughn Grant of Rawlins Commits to Southern VA. for Football

Vaughn Grant of Rawlins is involved in several sports but has decided on football at the next level and has signed with Southern Virginia. This past season on offense, he was named a 3A All-Conference running back, rushing for 946 yards and 11 touchdowns. The Outlaws were 3rd in 3A in total rushing yardage in 2024 and 2nd in 3A in rushing yards per game. He had a season high of 142 yards on the ground vs. Granby, Colorado, and 141 vs. Buffalo. Grant also played on the defensive line with 37 tackles, 2 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries, and 2 forced fumbles.

He also saw significant playing time on the Rawlins basketball team in 2024-25, averaging 6 points and 3 rebounds per game, shooting 50% from the 2-point range. Grant could also be found competing in track and field with a 7th place finish at the 3A Outdoor Championships in the shot put at 46-1.75 and 9th in the discus with a toss of 133-8.

In addition to all that, he has baseball experience as a right-handed pitcher, 1st baseman, and 3rd baseman at the club level with the Rawlins Cardinals. Southern Virginia is a Division III school that competes in the USA South Conference.
