The two-day, high school regional tennis championships were won by teams from Casper, Cheyenne, and Powell.

This tune-up helps determine the seeding of players and doubles tandems for the state tournament in Gillette Sept. 26-28.

North Regional Tennis Championships (in Casper)

The Kelly Walsh girls and Powell boys won the team crowns.

The Trojans swept the singles titles to edge Cody by 1 point for the team championship, 53-52. Finley Klingler and Lily Putnam from KW took the No. 1 and No. 2 singles crowns and neither lost a set. Cody took the top spot at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles with the teams of Icenogle-Wambeke and Anderson-Morales. A duo from Sheridan, Malkuch-Bilyeu, won No. 2 doubles.

The Panther boys rolled to a 22-point victory. They swept the singles, as Jesse Brown took the title at No. 1 and Dylan Preator won at No. 2. The team of Neary and Robertson from Gillette won the regional crown at No. 1 doubles. Kelly Walsh took the top spot at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles. The teams of Phillips-Allaire and Spicer-Brown finished in first-place.

South Regional Tennis Championships (in Cheyenne)

The Cheyenne Central girls and boys won the team titles for a second straight year.

The Central ladies won by 21 points thanks to victories at both singles and No. 1 doubles. Emily Needham and Kaitlyn Smedley captured the singles crowns. The team of Foster-Anderson was first at No. 1 doubles. Green River's duo of Beutel-Harrison won the championship at No. 2 doubles. Cheyenne East's team of Stoddard-O'Brien came out on top at No. 3 doubles.

The Central boys won by 20 points. The Indians won four crowns at No. 2 singles and all three doubles. Ryan Stampfli on Cheyenne Central won at No. 2 singles. The doubles teams of Bush-Van Kirk, Bogus-Cook, and Burron-Flowers swept the doubles titles. The only non-Central winner was Cheyenne South's Brendan Lock, who captured the No. 1 singles position.
