Ada Nelson of Cody Cruises in 4A Distances Races at State Track

Cody's Ada Nelson had plenty of motivation at this year's State Track Meet and she came through with flying colors in the distance races. In 2023. Nelson took 2nd at the 4A State Meet in both the 800 and 1600 meter runs and in 2024, she reached the top of the mountain with state championships in the 800 and the 1600. Nelson turned in sharp efforts in each event going 2.12.93 in the 800 and 5.07.81 in the 1600. Nelson also was on Cody's record-setting 1600 Medley relay team that broke the overall state mark in 4.06.74

She warmed up for the outdoor track season by winning 2 state championships at the 3A State Indoor Meet in the 800 meters and 1600 meters. Nelson also won both of those events at the all-star Wyoming Track Classic earlier this spring.

Needless to say, she had a very good weekend in Casper and we caught up with her after her sizable victory.
