
Sydney Rogers of Kelly Walsh Signs with Northern St. for Swimming
Sydney Rogers of Kelly Walsh has enjoyed a memorable prep career in swimming and has signed a letter of intent with Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. In her senior year at the 4A Girls State Swimming and Diving Meet in Cheyenne, Rogers placed 4th in the 100 backstroke, 6th in the 50 freestyle, her 200 Free Relay was 3rd and her 200 Medley Relay team was 5th.
In her junior year, Rogers and her Kelly Walsh had a sensational year as the Trojans won the 4A State Championship and her 200 Free Relay team took the top of the podium. She was 6th in the 200 IM and 7th in the breaststroke. Her 200 Freestyle relay also placed 7th.
Rogers got some first-hand experience of the caliber of high school swimming in her sophomore year with a 2nd place finish at the State Meet in the 200 Free Relay and 5th in the 200 Medley Relay.
Northern State is a Division II institution that competes in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference and plans on pursuing a nursing degree.
