The Sheridan boys' track team won the 4A State Championship for the 2nd consecutive year, and needless to say, the Broncs were loaded with talent. Garrett Otto was the best hurdler in 4A all season long and won both the 110 and 300 over the weekend at the State Track & Field Meet in Casper.

Otto won the 110 hurdles in 14.87 and was the only guy in the field to run under 15 seconds. He also cruised to victory in the 300 hurdles with a time of 38.71 and won both of those races with room to spare. Otto made the next logical step after a strong 2024 4A State Meet with a 2nd place finish in the 300 hurdles and 3rd in the 110.

In addition to his two individual championships, Otto was part of Sheridan's 4x400 relay team, which not only took first but also set the overall state record in 3:18.63. He was a member of the state champion 1600 medley relay team as well.

At the 4A State Indoor Track Meet earlier this year, Otto won the 55 hurdles in 7.78 and ran on the Broncs 4x400 meter relay squad that set the overall indoor record at 3.24.82. Otto also ran on the 4x200 relay team that placed 2nd.

We talked with Otto about his performance at the State Meet and what's ahead.
