
Jeniah Lovingood of Tongue River Joins N. Arizona Track Program
Jeniah Lovingood of Tongue River will take the next big step in her athletic journey as she will compete at Northern Arizona in track and field. She is the defending 2A State Champion in the shot put with a toss of 35-5.5 in a very competitive event. Lovingood also took 2nd place in the 2A long jump at 17-4.5 and ran the anchor leg on the Eagles' 4x100 meter relay team, which took 2nd at State in 51.90.
In her junior season at the State 2A Outdoor Championships, Lovingood was 2nd in the shot at 34-5.75, 4th in the long jump at 16-1.75, and her 4x100 relay team placed 6th. As a sophomore in outdoor track, she ran on Tongue River's 4x400 relay team, which took 4th at the State Meet. 6th in the sprint medley and 13th in the shot put.
Lovingood turned in a solid effort at the State 3A Indoor Track Championships with a 2nd place finish in the shot at 36-1.25 and 4th in the long jump with a leap of 15-10. She placed 4th in the 3A Indoor shot and was 14th in the long jump.
Lovingood is an outstanding volleyball player and was named All-State in 2A this past season as Tongue River took 2nd at the State Tournament. She rang up 195 kills, 87 digs, and 42 blocks and was an All-Conference selection in her junior year with 215 kills and 189 digs.
Northern Arizona is a Division I school that competes in the Big Sky Conference.
