
Thunder Basin Wrestler Jais Rose to Compete at the College Level
Thunder Basin High School in Gillette has produced more than a few outstanding wrestlers and Jais Rose is one of them. He enjoyed a solid 4-year career with the Bolts and will be joining the Labette College program in the fall.
Rose won a 4A State Championship in his sophomore year at 138 pounds with a pin of Dylan Brenton of Natrona in the title match. He finished his 2nd-year campaign at 37-10. Rose was 2nd at the 4A State Tournament at 132 pounds as a freshman as he lost to Natrona's Kyler Henderson 3-1 to wrap up the season 23-9.
In his junior year, Rose was 4th at State in the 4A 152-pound bracket going 36-8, and went 36-5 in his senior year taking 3rd place in the 4A 157-pound class.
Rose is also a two-time champion at the prestigious Ron Thon Tournament in Riverton. In 2024, he defeated Gabe Emery of Kemmerer 9-1 to win the 157-pound title and in 2-2023, Rose got by Kemmerer's Riggin Walker 3-1 to take the 152-pound crown.
Labette Community College competes at the junior college level in the Jayhawk Conference and is located in Parsons, Kansas.
