Ryan Nutt of Pinedale Signs with Northwest College for Wrestling

Ryan Nutt of Pinedale has been one of the state's fiercest wrestlers and has a trio of State Championships to prove it. He will continue his career on the mat at Northwest College in Powell, and the Trappers took 7th place at the National NJCAA Tournament in 2025.

In his senior season, Nutt won the 3A State Championship at 126 pounds with a 10-1 major decision over William Wood of Cody. He had 3 falls in the tournament and finished the year at 54-3. In 2024, Nutt made the top of the 3A podium at 120 pounds with a 12-0 win in the State Championship match over Adrian Trujillo of Rawlins. Once again, he recorded 3 falls in the State Tournament and went 48-5 on the year.

Nutt's first State Championship came as a sophomore with a grueling 5-4 victory over Axel Mackinnon of Green River in the 120 lbs title match. He pinned 3 of his opponents on the way to the championship and was 38-7 in 2023. Nutt took 4th at the 2022 3A State Tournament as a freshman at 106 pounds with 41 wins and 15 losses for the season.

Nutt has enjoyed some great success at the big Ron Thon Tournament in Riverton with a 2nd place finish at 126 in his senior season and capturing a championship at 120 in his junior year.
