Wyoming High School Wrestling Scoreboard: Dec. 17-21, 2024

This week brings a lot of action before schools go on Christmas break. There are many major tournaments in Wyoming over the weekend. Sheridan is hosting an invite for girls' wrestling on Saturday. The Battle in the Big Horns in Worland and the Joe Aimone Invite Invite in Kemmerer are on Friday and Saturday. The Pat Weede Memorial in Gillette is a boys-only tournament on Saturday. Wright is hosting their Christmas duals on the 21. There are also a handful of out-of-state tournaments as well as duals this week.

Lingle-Ft. Laramie/Southeast finished 4th with 71 pts and had 3 wrestlers place 2nd in their pools, Grace Gibson, Kennedi Blevins, and Hallie Fuller. Upton was 13th. 

NCCT 2024 at Island Grove Event Center at Greeley, CO = Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Glenrock, Laramie

Cheyenne East is currently the highest of all Wyoming teams in 8th after Day 1. Cheyenne Central is 32nd, Glenrock is 35th, and Laramie is 40th.

Rawlins wins the battle with 107 pts behind 2 1st-place finishes of Kinsey Hooper and Olivianna McMahn. Rock Springs placed 2nd and Pinedale as 3rd.

Lyman takes 1st with 138 pts and had 2 1st-place wrestlers, Karly Sabey and Peyton Hadden. Weber (UT) was 2nd and Kemmerer took 3rd.

Evanston finished 53rd with Sidney Liechty placing 6th at 115 lbs.

The Bison had 2 1st-place wrestlers Trinity Warner and Kyleah Martinez. 

NCCT 2024 at Island Grove Event Center at Greeley, CO = Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Glenrock, Laramie

Cheyenne East places highest of the Wyoming teams in 10th. Joci Davis placed 2nd at 190 lbs for the T-Birds. Glenrock finished 36th, Cheyenne Central was 39th, and Laramie took 42nd. 

Sidney/Bridgeport Invite at Sidney HS in Sidney, NE = Burns/Pine Bluffs, Torrington

Scores are based on both girls' and boys' results. Torrington places the best of Wyoming teams in 6th. Burns/Pine Bluffs finished 11th.

Pinedale takes 1st overall after winning the Gold Bracket. Douglas/Rapid City Christian/New Underwood (SD) was the winner of the Silver Bracket. The Bronze bracket was won by Greybull/Riverside.

Kemmerer won the home Invite with 317 pts and had 3 1st-place wrestlers, Roany Proffit, Graison Kelly, and Owen Barton. Bear Lake (ID) was 2nd and Cokeville took 3rd.

Thunder Basin wins the 1v1 dual over Bismarck St Mary's to take 1st. 

Wright Christmas Duals at Wright HS = Campbell County JV, Hulett, Kelly Walsh JV, Lusk, Moorcroft, Natrona JV, Sheridan JV, Sundance, Thunder Basin JV, Tongue River, Upton, Wright, Camp Hill (PA)

Kelly Walsh JV took 1st, Thunder Basin JV took 2nd, and Wright was 3rd. 

NCCT 2024 at Island Grove Event Center at Greeley, CO = Cheyenne Central, Cheyenne East, Kelly Walsh, Laramie

Kelly Walsh finishes 7th, top of all Wyoming teams. The Trojans had 2 3rd-place wrestlers in Jerred Smith and Mekhi Bovee. Cheyenne East was 13th, Cheyenne Central was 47th, and Laramie took 58th. 

Reno Tournament of Champions in Reno, NV = Green River

Sidney/Bridgeport Invite at Sidney HS in Sidney, NE = Burns/Pine Bluffs, Cheyenne East, Torrington

Scores are based on both girls' and boys' results. Torrington places the best of Wyoming teams in 6th. Barrett Eichenberger and Brendan Woodard took 1st in their weight classes for the Trailblazers. Cheyenne East was 8th and Burns/Pine Bluffs finished 11th. 

Viewmont Invite at Viewmont HS in Bountiful, UT = Evanston, Star Valley

Star Valley finishes 2nd with 184.5 pts and 4 1st-place wrestlers, Grant Thomson, Kooper Burk, Ty Thompson, and Kimball Parry. Evanston was 6th and had 3 3rd-place wrestlers.
