Girls wrestling has seen tremendous growth in Wyoming and nationwide which in turn has provided many opportunities to compete at the college level. Kelly Walsh's Skylee Gangwish will continue her career on the mat at McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois.

In her senior season, Gangwish placed 3rd at the State Tournament at 145 pounds and recorded 3 pins along the way. She took 2nd place at the prestigious Ron Thon Tournament in Riverton, losing to Meadow King from Cheyenne Central in the 145 final. Gangwish finished the year with a record of 28-7.

She was equally impressive in her junior year placing 2nd in the 2023 State Tournament at 155 pounds, losing to Josie Houk of Lingle/Southeast in the championship match. Gangwish was 2nd at the Ron Thon in 2023, also losing to Houk in the 155 final. Her record in her junior season was 24-8.

McKendree University is a Division II institution outside of St. Louis with a tremendous women's wrestling program. The Bearcats took 4th place at the National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa with 6 ladies earning All-American Status.
