Class ‘A’ Legion Baseball teams in Wyoming are into the postseason with the two District Tournaments on Wednesday through Friday.

The East District Tournament is in Douglas at Nida Field, while the West District Tournament is at Legion Field in Cowley, hosted by Lovell. Both sites are using a seven-team, double-elimination bracket to determine the teams that will advance to the state tournament next week in Sheridan.

As the host team, the Sheridan Jets are already in the state tournament field. That means only three teams from the East District Tournament will advance to the state tournament. The top four from the West District Tournament will advance to the state tournament.

Douglas won the East Conference regular-season title. Powell topped the Northwest Conference. Those two teams earned a first-round bye and need just one win to advance to the District Tournament championship game and qualify for the state tournament.

Final Score = Game 1: (5) Sheridan Jets 12 (4) Gillette Rustlers 3 - 9 run 7th helped the Jets pull away. Greer had 3 RBIs for Sheridan.

Final Score = Game 2: (6) Wheatland Lobos 5 (3) Torrington Tigers 2 - the Lobos pull off the win behind Petroski's big day. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 6.2 IP with 9 Ks. Petroski had 2 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score = Game 3: (2) Casper Drillers 13 (7) Buffalo Bulls 0 - a 9-run 3rd propelled the Drillers to the win. Hagar had 2 hits & 4 RBIs.

Final Score = Game 4: Torrington Tigers 9 Buffalo Bulls 8 - weather delayed the game by 5+ hours - Bulls are eliminated - after the game was tied at 6-6 and delayed, the Tigers scored a total of 4 runs in the 3rd. They held off the Bulls. Firminhac had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Jawors had 3 hits & 2 RBIs for Buffalo.

Final Score = Game 6: Casper Drillers 13 Wheatland Lobos 7 - a 6-run 4th put the Drillers in front for good. Bailey & Speiser both hit HRs and both had 3 hits & 3 RBIs.

Final Score = Game 5: Douglas Cats 3 Sheridan Jets 2 - a 3-run 2nd inning helped the Cats to the win. Boyson had a 2-run single as part of 2 hits & 2 RBIs.

Final Score = Game 7: Wheatland Lobos 12 Gillette Rustlers 8 - Rustlers are eliminated - Gillette jumped out 5-0 and 8-7, but the Lobos scored the last 5 runs of the game. Warren and Nix with 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.

Final Score = Game 8: Torrington Tigers 15 Sheridan Jets 5 - Jets are eliminated - the Tigers rallied from an early 4-0 deficit. They scored 6 in the 4th to take the lead and added 8 runs in the 6th. Firminhac had 3 hits (2B, 3B) & 3 RBIs. Long and Greiman added 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Torrington had 18 hits and drew 7 walks.

Final Score = Game 9: Torrington Tigers 25 Wheatland Lobos 9 - Tigers broke it wide open with 12 runs in the top of the 7th. They secure the No. 3 seed at the state tournament. Hibben had 6 hits & 5 RBIs. Desmond added 2 hits & 4 RBIs.

Final Score = Game 10: Douglas Cats 2 Casper Drillers 1 (8 inns.) [Championship] - Kejr had the GW RBI single in the 8th to win it for the Cats. Douglas grabs the No. 1 seed and Casper the No. 2 seed at the state tournament.

Final Score = Game 1: (NW2) Cody Cubs 12 (SW3) Rawlins Generals 0 - the Cubs scored 5 runs in both the 2nd and 3rd innings. J. Schroeder had 2 hits & 3 RBIs for Cody. Duke and Kondelis combined on a 2-hit shutout

Final Score = Game 2: (SW1) Green River Knights 16 (NW4) Lander Legends 4 - the Knights had a pair of 7-run innings. Eldredge had 3 hits, incl. 1 HR & 4 RBIs.

Final Score = Game 3: Lander Legends 24 Rawlins Generals 8 - Generals are eliminated - Whelan drove in 5 runs on 3 hits, including a 2-run in-the-park home run for the Legends.  

Final Score = Game 4: (NW3) Lovell Mustangs 5 (SW2) Evanston Outlaws 2 - the Mustangs scored 2 in the 4th to break a 2-2 tie and added an insurance run in the 6th. Wright had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Lovell.

Final Score = Game 5: Cody Cubs 3 Green River Knights 2 - Reinker's 2-run single in the 5th was the difference for Cody. The Cubs have qualified for the state tournament.

Final Score = Game 6: (NW1) Powell Pioneers 13 Lovell Mustangs 1 - a 9-run 2nd inning helped Powell to the win. Stenerson had 3 hits (HR, 2B) & 2 RBIs. Gibson added 2 RBIs.

Final Score = Game 7: Green River Knights 12 Evanston Outlaws 6 - Outlaws are eliminated - a 6-run 2nd and a 6-run 4th put the Knights in control. Paoli hit a 3-run HR. Liebelt had 2 hits & 2 RBIs for Green River.

Final Score = Game 8: Lovell Mustangs 5 Lander Legends 3 - Legends are eliminated - the Mustangs scored 3 in the 6th on two walks and a sacrifice fly to rally for the victory. Moss had 1 hit & 2 RBIs.

Final Score = Game 10: Powell Pioneers 8 Cody Cubs 1 [Championship] - Pioneers scored 3 in the 1st, highlighted by Stenerson's HR, and never trailed. Powell is the No. 1 seed at state, while Cody is the No. 2 seed.

Final Score = Game 9: Lovell Mustangs 13 Green River Knights 2 - Lovell secures the No. 3 seed and GR the No. 4 seed at the state tournament. The Mustangs broke it open with 8 runs in the 3rd inning.
