Wyoming Legion Baseball Scoreboard: July 17-19, 2023
It’s the last week of the regular season for Double-A American Legion Baseball teams in Wyoming.
The 2023 season concludes with a mix of conference and non-conference games. Teams are fine-tuning before next week’s state tournament that starts on July 24 in Jackson.

MONDAY, JULY 17:
Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 6 Sheridan Troopers 3 (conference game) - the Troopers jumped out to a 3-0 in the 2nd. Cheyenne rallied with 4 in the 5th and a 2-run HR by C. McAnelly in the 6th. He finished with 3 hits & 3 RBIs for the Sixers. Anderson and Romero had 2 hits & 1 RBI each. Hutton, Ormseth, & Waugh had RBIs for Sheridan.
Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 4 Cheyenne Sixers 2 (conference game) - a 3-run top of the 7th was the difference for Sheridan. The Troopers clinched the top seed at next week's AA State Tournament. Cheyenne is the No. 2 seed. A bases-loaded walk, a fielder's choice, and an error led to the 3 runs. Stowe out-dueled McAnelly for the win on the mound. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits over 6.1 IP with 7 Ks and 3 walks.
TUESDAY, JULY 18:
Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 14 Rock Springs 3 (conference game) - a 6-run 2nd gave the Hawks the lead for good. Romine and Hauf each had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 31 Rock Springs 5 (conference game) - Cheyenne scored 20 runs in the 3rd inning. Garrett had 4 hits (2-2B) & 5 RBIs to pace the Hawks' 23-hit attack.
Final Score: Park City, UT 11 Jackson 6 - the Miners jumped out to a 7-0 lead.
Final Score: Billings Scarlets 2 Casper Oilers 1 - a sacrifice fly in the 3rd was the difference.
Final Score: Casper Oilers 7 Billings Scarlets 6 - an RBI triple and an RBI groundout in the 6th gave the Oilers the lead. Gifford had 2 hits & 3 RBIs.
Final Score: Jackson 15 Bingham, UT 8 - the Giants rallied from an early 4-0 deficit. Kostial's grand slam put Jackson in front for good. He had 2 hits & 6 RBIs.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 19:
Final Score: Billings Royals 12 Casper Oilers 2 - a 10-run 3rd broke it open for the Royals.
Final Score: Casper Oilers 12 Billings Royals 4
Final Score: Laramie 11 Gillette 8 (conference game) - Rangers rally with 4 runs in the 6th and clinch the No. 5 seed at the state tournament.
Final Score: Laramie 5 Gillette Riders 1 (conference game) - Branch tossed a complete game and allowed 1 run on 4 hits with 10 Ks and 3 walks.
Final Score: Jackson 15 Park City, UT 7 - Giants pulled away with 11 runs in the last 3 innings.
Final Score: Skyline, UT 12 Jackson 7 - 6 runs on 4 hits in the bottom of the 4th put Skyline on top for good.
