Wyoming Legion Baseball Scoreboard: June 5-11, 2023
It is Week 10 of the Legion baseball season in Wyoming, and we have reached the third month of the season.
Several teams will be taking part in tournaments this week. Laramie and Torrington host, while other teams are going out of state to Idaho or Montana for tournament action.
A handful of conference games are also on tap this week.

MONDAY, JUNE 5:
Final Score: Gillette Riders 15 Rock Springs 0 - the Riders scored 5 in the 1st and added 9 more in the 2nd inning. S. Petersen and Hecker hit home runs. Partlow added 3 hits & 3 RBIs. Loftus tossed a no-hitter over 3 innings and struck out 5 with 1 walk.
Final Score: Gillette Riders 13 Rock Springs 3 - Riders scored 4 runs in the 1st and 2nd innings and closed it out in the 5th. C. Schilling led the way with 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Loftus added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Lovell 20 Buffalo 12 - Mustangs prevail in a shootout. Lovell scored the last 8 runs after the game was tied, 12-12. Diaz-Rios had 3 hits & 5 RBIs for the Mustangs, while Files added 4 hits & 3 RBIs. Brunkhorst finished with 3 hits & 2 RBIs for the Bulls.
Final Score: Lovell 13 Buffalo 6 - the Mustangs scored 12 runs in the last 3 innings to pull away for the sweep. Rodriguez had 4 hits & 5 RBIs.
Final Score: Utah Yaks 12 Evanston 5 - 2.5-hour weather delay shortened the doubleheader to one, 9-inning game - Utah scored 8 runs in the first 3 innings.
Final Score: Jackson 11 Green River 0 - Wiley tossed a 1-hit shutout for the Giants. They scored 8 runs in the 4th to pull away. Fisher had 2 hits & 2 RBIs to lead the offense.
Final Score: Jackson 18 Green River 3 - the Giants needed only 4.5 innings for the sweep. Jackson scored 10 runs over the 1st two innings. A. Gralund had 4 hits and drove in 2. Kostial hit a home run.
Final Score: Casper Drillers 8 Torrington 7 - 9 inns. (conference game) - Drillers won on an error to end the game in extra innings. Casper took advantage of 7 Torrington errors.
Final Score: Casper Drillers 11 Torrington 1 (conference game) - the Drillers jumped out to an 8-1 lead. Speiser and Evan M. had 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.
TUESDAY, JUNE 6:
Final Score: Casper Oilers 11 Rapid City Post 320 Stars 7 (in Sturgis, SD) - a 6-run 4th helped the Oilers take the lead for good. Whitley had 3 hits and 2 RBIs, while Wilcox added 2 hits & 3 RBIs.
Final Score: Cody 10 Lovell 1 (conference game) - the Cubs led 3-1 when they scored 4 in the 3rd and 3 in the 5th. Thomasson had 3 hits & 2 RBIs. Duke added 2 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Cody 14 Lovell 2 (conference game) - Cody led 6-0 after two innings and rolled to a sweep of the Mustangs. A 6-run 4th capped it for the Cubs. T. Schroeder had 2 hits & 4 RBIs. He also got the win on the mound.
Final Score: Douglas 13 Wheatland 3 (conference game) - with a 5-2 lead, the Cats pulled away with 5 runs in the 5th and 3 more in the 6th. Holler drove in 4 runs, while Spence had 2 hits & 2 RBIs.
Final Score: Douglas 17 Wheatland 8 (conference game) - an 8-run 4th put the Cats in front for good. Kejr hit 2 home runs and drove in 7 runs. Three Douglas pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts, as the Cats overcame 6 errors. Suko had a grand slam for Wheatland.
Final Score: Casper Oilers 11 Sturgis, SD 2 - the Oilers scored 9 runs over the last 3 innings to pull away. Christensen had 2 hits & 3 RBIs for Casper.
Cheyenne Hawks at Eaton, CO - canceled
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 7:
Final Score: Gillette Riders 11 Jackson 2 (conference game) - the Riders scored the last 11 runs of the game. They took the lead with a 4-run 3rd. Petersen and Loftus with 3 hits & 2 RBIs apiece. Sargent 5 IP for the win on the mound.
Final Score: Gillette Riders 5 Jackson 1 (conference game) - a 3-run 5th inning propelled the Riders to the sweep. Gillette manager Nate Perleberg got his 900th victory as the Riders' skipper.

Final Score: Gering, NE 9 Buffalo 1 - Bulls got their lone run in the 2nd. Teten had the RBI single.

Buffalo Wild Wings Tournament in Billings, MT
Final Score: Sheridan Jets 4 Billings Post 4 Red 0 - 4 pitchers combined on a 2-hit shutout for the Jets. Greer, Hamrick, & Destefano with 1 hit & 1 RBI each.
Final Score: Powell 5 Gillette Rustlers 2 - the Pioneers scored at least 1 run in 4 straight innings for the win. Wantulok had 2 hits & 2 RBIs. Gibson allowed 2 runs on 5 hits over 6IP.
Final Score: Billings Blue Jays 10 Sheridan Jets 2 - the Blue Jays scored 9 times in the first 2 innings.
Final Score: Powell 11 Pocatello, ID 1 - Johnson allowed 1 run on 3 hits over 5IP with 10 Ks against the Razorbacks. Wantulok had 2 hits & 3 RBIs, while Schwahn & Queen added 2 hits & 2 RBIs each.

Dooley Oil Classic in Laramie - revised schedule
Final Score: Laramie 8 Rock Springs 0 - Moniz tossed a 2-hit shutout. Aragon had 2 hits (2B) & 1 RBI.
Final Score: Rock Springs 6 Jefferson Academy (Broomfield, CO) 5 - Stallions rally with 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th for the victory thanks to 3 hits, a walk, and 2 errors.
Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 12 Douglas 1 - Troopers pulled away with 5 runs in both the 5th & 7th. Greer and Ormseth combined for 6 hits & 3 RBIs as part of a 17-hit attack.
Final Score: Sheridan Troopers 11 Westco Zephyrs 0 - Troopers used two 5-run innings to pull away. Greer had 1 hit & 3 RBIs. Hutton added 2 hits & drove in 1.
Final Score: Laramie 4 Castle Rock, CO 3 - Hoyt hits the walk-off game-winning RBI single for the Rangers.
Bandits Invitational Tournament – Battle at the Falls in Idaho Falls, ID
Final Score: Cheyenne Sixers 16 RA Baseball Academy 6 - Sixers got 3 hits & 6 RBIs from Williams. McAnelly added 3 hits & 3 RBIs.
Final Score: Idaho Falls Bandits 8 Cheyenne Sixers 0 - held to 4 hits in the loss.
Buffalo Wild Wings Tournament in Billings, MT - the schedule has changed due to the weather
Final Score: Cheyenne Hawks 7 Wheatland 0 - forfeit win

Final Score: Parker (CO) Lightning Navy 7 Sheridan Jets 5 - the Lightning had a pair of 3-run innings that carried them to the win.
Final Score: Helena, MT 16 Gillette Rustlers 1 - Reps pulled away after an early 2-0 lead.
Final Score: Gillette Rustlers 12 Pocatello (ID) Razorbacks 7 - Rustlers led 9-2 and held off a comeback. Kuhbacher & Wasson had 2 hits & 3 RBIs each for Gillette.
Final Score: Powell 9 Helena, MT 1 - Johnson and Wantulok had 3 hits & 2 RBIs apiece for the Pioneers. Queen tossed a no-hitter but allowed 1 run on 3 walks with 8 Ks.
Final Score: Billings Cardinals 7 Cheyenne Hawks 1 - Cardinals scored 4 in the 7th to pull away.

Final Score: Cody 5 Havre, MT 2 - Jarrett with 3 hits & 3 RBIs for the Cubs.
Final Score: Gallatin Valley, MT 9 Cody 8 - Cubs lost on a walk-off sac fly.
