Green River’s Kale Knezovich Reaches 4-Time Champion Plateau
Green River wrestler Kale Knezovich has been competing for quite some time and opened some eyes back in 2021 by winning the 3A 106-pound state championship with a record of 31-1. He followed that up with another state title in his sophomore year at 120 pounds going 31-8 along the way. Knezovich made it 3 for 3 in 2023 by taking the 3A 138-pound title with a record of 34-10.
It wasn't an easy road for Knezovich in his senior year. He was hurt at the beginning of the season and hardly wrestled. Yet he managed to win state title #4 with a 6-0 win over Sam Gregory of Lyman at 157 pounds. Knezovich had a pair of technical fall wins and a hard-earned 4-2 victory over Landon Fornstrom in the semi-finals. He finished the year 14-1 and despite an injury, he was not going to be denied a spot in the elite 4-time state champion club.
We caught up with him after that championship match which wasn't an easy endeavor by any stretch.
