Josie Houk of Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast has owned the Girl's 155-pound weight class in wrestling for the last two years as she earned State Championship #2 on Saturday in Casper. Houk beat Kaelyn Ronnau from Cheyenne East by a fall and those 2 met in the Ron Thon Tournament final with Houk winning by a fall. At this year's State Tournament, Houk recorded 4 pins and finished the year with an unblemished record of 38-0

She was equally effective in 2023 at the inaugural Girls State Tournament as she breezed through the 155 bracket to get to the top of the podium. Houk was 36-1 last season and goes on the mat with a plan with fantastic execution. She started wrestling when she was 8 years old and earned silver All-American status at the AAU Twin Rivers Meet in Des Moines, Iowa last year.

Winning a state title was a great birthday present for Josie Houk so she was really having a good day!
