2021 Wyoming High School Football Class 1A-9 Man State Championship Preview [VIDEOS]
Two schools making their first appearance at the championships in Laramie will square off in the Class 1A-9 Man title game.
The Shoshoni Wranglers will play the Rocky Mountain Grizzlies.
It’s been 23 years since Rocky Mountain was in a championship game. The Grizzlies won back-to-back state titles in Class 1A Division I in 1997 and 1998. They’ve played in three other championship games.
The drought’s been even longer for Shoshoni. The last time they played for a title, the Wranglers won it in 1985.
It was Week 2 of this regular season when Shoshoni won at Rocky Mountain, 27-10.
WyoPreps received more insight into both teams from the two head coaches before the game. We talked with Tony Truempler of Shoshoni and Richard Despain from Rocky Mountain.
