2023 AA Northwest Regional Tournament Photos from Gillette

The Cheyenne Sixers became the first Wyoming team to advance to the American Legion World Series on Sunday.

Cheyenne beat Gillette in an all-Wyoming championship game, which guaranteed that history would be made.

Gillette won their first three games in the tournament to secure a spot in the championship game.

Cheyenne had to win three straight elimination games to reach the title tilt. That included a 4-3 win on Sunday over the Rocky Mountain Lobos. That put the Sixers up against the Riders for a chance to go to Shelby, NC.

The Sixers prevailed, 7-4.
