Cody Players React to Winning the Wyoming D2 State Tournament [VIDEO]

The Cody Cubs won the Wyoming American Legion Baseball Division 2 State Tournament last Monday in Green River. The Cubs beat the Jackson Giants 11-1 in the championship game. It was Cody's first baseball title since 2022.

WYOPREPS SPEAKS WITH CODY PLAYERS AFTER D2 STATE TITLE

WyoPreps visited with three players after the Cubs' victory. Those three were State Tournament MVP Kanin Phillips, championship game MVP Lane Delzer, and utility player Easton Hartley.

Phillips had a batting average of .615 during the state tournament. He hit one home run and finished with 7 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Kanin also was hit by a pitch four times, walked once, and struck out only twice. He added one stolen base.

Delzer got the win on the mound in the title game versus Jackson. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits. Lane walked one, hit one batter, and struck out three. He threw 70 total pitches over four innings. Delzer appeared in a second game and had an ERA of 1.286 at the state tournament. At the plate, Lane hit .417. He had 5 hits, 4 RBIs, and scored 5 runs.

Hartley had a batting average of .313 during the state tournament, with 5 hits, 3 RBIs, and 7 runs scored. He also got a win on the mound.

Cody finished its season at 38-24.
