2023 Wyoming High School Cross Country State Championships At-a-Glance
The Wyoming High School State Cross Country Championships for 2023 are at the Cheyenne Country Club on Saturday.
Two individual champions are back to defend their title from last year. The other four divisions will have a new champion on the top of the podium.
In Class 2A, only a couple of top ten finishers from 2022 return to the girls’ field. For the boys, only two of last year’s top ten are back.
In 3A, junior Ameya Eddy seeks a repeat performance from 2022 in the girls’ division. She is joined by five others who finished in the top ten a year ago. The boys’ field features four returners from 2022’s top ten finishers.
The 4A girls’ field is deep. Eight of the top ten finishers in 2022 return for this year’s race. Half (or five) of the top ten is back on the boys’ side. Habtamu Wetzel of Star Valley looks to repeat in the boys’ race.
Since this is a new course, and no regular season competition was held at the venue, there are no course records for this site.
