The Kemmerer Rangers won their very first state championship in wrestling over the weekend in Casper so they were a happy group of guys. Karl Haslem was a repeat state champion with Roany Proffit and Riggen Walker winning titles as well. Roany won the 126-pound title with a 12-6 decision over Colton Coffman of Lusk so the freshman finished the year at 43-6. His brother Donny was a four-time state champion. Riggen Walker won the 145 championship with a 4-1 win over Garrett Reece of Cokeville. Walker is a junior and went 39-5 on the season. His older brother Hayden was a three-time state champion for the Rangers.

We caught up with Proffit and Walker and they shared some thoughts on winning those coveted state titles.
