4A State Wrestling Post-Match Remarks

Natrona County was the repeat 4A champion at the State Wrestling Tournament and won by a substantial margin. 195 pounder Brendyn Nelson ended his prep wrestling career with a 3rd period pin of the powerful Keagan Bartlett of Cheyenne Central. Nelson who will continue his athletic career at Hastings College for football went 36-4 and was one of 5 state champions from the Mustang crew.

Nelson displayed significant improvement on the mat this season after going 1-2 at the state tournament last season at 170 pounds. We had a chance to talk with the young man about his efforts at the big show.
