The ladies of Arvada-Clearmont posted 22 wins this past season, the most since 2008. The Panthers advanced to the 1A state championship game and it wasn't an easy route by any means. AC beat Little Snake River in the quarterfinal round 55-44 despite shooting just 30% from the field. Kristen Klaahsen led the way with 16, Brooke Worman had 13 and McKenna Auzqui had 12. The Panther defense did force 21 turnovers in that game. In the 1A semi-finals, Arvada-Clearmont outscored St. Stephens 18-2 in the 4th quarter to post a 52-41 win. Auazqui was solid with 23 points, going 10-13 from the free throw line while Klaahsen added 14. AC did run into a buzzsaw in the championship game as they were downed by Cokeville 64-40. It was a tough shooting day for the Panthers at 26% with Worman the only player in double figures with 13. Klaahsen and Auzqui were named all-state and this team had a great season even though one of their better players, Ashlynn Fennema played only 10 games. Looking ahead, there is going to be some rebuilding her as Klaahsen and Worman were seniors.
