CHEYENNE'S TY LAIN STEPS DOWN AS SIXERS MANAGER

Lain just earned his 500th career win as a manager last weekend in Rapid City, SD. He leaves with a record of 502-159. Lain guided the Sixers to Wyoming’s first appearance at the American Legion World Series in 2023. Cheyenne finished as one of the last four teams in the tournament. Post 6 Baseball Board President Phil Maggard announced the news on Wednesday afternoon.

“Coach Lain has made it no secret through the years his desire to coach at the collegiate level. He has fulfilled one of his dreams--coaching Post 6 at an elite level. While we will most certainly miss him, we could not be more proud as he fulfills another dream in the next chapter of his coaching career.”

The Search for a New Coach Will Start Later On

Maggard said an interim coach, who will finish out the 2024 season, will be named soon. They will start the search process for a new manager of the program at or near the end of the season.

Cheyenne is 30-5 in the 2024 season. They head to Greeley, CO for tournament action this weekend.
